Manhattan, the small streets in El Raval.

Singing our lungs out in the car,
I felt free with the windows down.
The streets of Barcelona were our confident
When you looked at my eyes and smiled.

Our first drinks during the happy hour of that bar,
Antifascist library and the book you gave me,
Fourty minutes late and a rose in your hand.
I was there waiting thinking how much I hate you.

I feel free for the first time in my life.
I knew it wouldn’t last forever but it never mattered anyway.
I remember us through the memories of these days,
And I am, am I, who am I, after that?

I’m just stuck in the middle,
Never knew if you were a lover or a friend.
And I think about the songs you sang,
Hoping you’ll write something about me.

I could stare at you all day long,

When you kissed me that last time waiting for a train
And told me “please don’t change”.

Our last beer at a bar when I was tired:
You said you fucked up everything.

So I write this to say thank you.
